Overview

Element has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Vice President of Product, Global Labs to join the the organization.  Reporting to the EVP and CTO, the Vice President of Product, Global Labs will have overall responsibility for the strategy, product roadmap and technical development and/or delivery of the entire LIMS estate supporting all end markets at Element worldwide. 

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to building and leading a multi-disciplined core team of solution designers, architects, software engineers and integration specialists to enact the group LIMS strategy that they will be responsible for creating and developing.

  • Developing and agreeing the overall LIMS product strategy for Element
  • Leading, shaping and developing a high performance product development team who, in turn, will build strong relationships across the broad technology estate that includes support operations, infrastructure, business applications, security and regional business relationship management to ensure LIMS are best in class and deliver manifest operational improvements for each of Element’s end markets
  • Defining and refining the LIMS technical framework and implementation programme plan
  • Clearly building and running a technology budget for the LIMS development programme
  • Ensuring there is a comprehensive approach to change management at the lab level
  • Identifying interdependencies and dependencies between and across LIMS deployed in different end markets, and to identify and capitalise on synergistic benefits derived therefrom

Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience of technology product strategy definition, development and implementation in a LIMS context (build and/or buy or preferably both)
  • Significant leadership credentials to create, lead and shape a high performing product development team
  • A proven track record of outstanding delivery and operational excellence in a complex multi-site, international enterprise environment
  • Recent experience of delivering transformational change programmes (People, Process, Technology) in a lab context
  • A strong technical background that includes an understanding of applications, infrastructure services and architecture
  • An excellent knowledge of the current state of commercially-available LIMS, LIMS trends and LIMS modernisation
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree

  • An outstanding team player, comfortable with navigating diverse cultures and operating models

  • Highly effective communication skills

  • A strong strategic and business mindset, comfortable with understanding the operating dynamics of a diverse business such as Element
