Overview

Element is hiring a Production Planner/Controller reporting to the Operations Manager/Production Controller. to provide support to the business by liaising with customers and the production team. Primary tasks being to progress orders through pro-active communication with existing and new customers, to take accurate information from the laboratory staff and to technically review orders and process reports.

 

Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling of new works
  • Production of Machining & Test Requests
  • Maintenance and development of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Updating of Job Tracker
  • Monitoring and reporting of On Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Compiling test reports and issuing to clients
  • Support the commercial activities of the sales organisation as reasonably required
  • Identification and organisation of sub-contract activities in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Ensure suitable and sufficient contract review is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure that customers purchase orders are received and processed
  • Liase with customers and sub-contractors with regard to purchase order progress status
  • Ensure that test reports are accurate and comply with UKAS requirements
  • Manage collections and deliveries in a planned and cost effective manner
  • Daily maintenance of client requested production schedules
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably requested by the Operations Manager

Skills / Qualifications

  • Numeracy: Ability to make measurements using suitable instruments to the appropriate level of accuracy
  • ICT: Ability to input and extract information into standard software applications (e.g. word, excel, access and outlook)
  • Ability to use and exploit laboratory information systems effectively and efficiently
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in English at all levels, including reporting work to customers Improving performance: Ability to evaluate and recommend improvements and to manage their introduction
  • Team working: Ability to understand and manage emotions and resolve conflict, working with colleagues to deliver a service that satisfies expectations
  •  Management: Ability to plan, organize and manage work within the defined area of responsibility
  • Leadership: Shall be willing to accept responsibility for the area of work
  • Problem solving: Ability to review performance, identify problems and contribute to their solution
