Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Chemistry Technician for method set up, reagent and sample preparation, recording data and operation of analytical instruments and wet chemical techniques. This position is a 6 month contract, and depending on performance, may lead to full time opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products
  • Operation of equipment like pH, HPLC , UV-visible spectrophotometers, ovens, furnaces, incubators, titrators
  • Prepare the reagents, standard solution and ensure standardization of solutions
  • Handling and storage all chemicals as per the Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Performing the calibration of measuring devices
  • Performance of qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests and analysis of other substances as per standard method
  • Involvement in site and field testing with various international standards or in-house procedures
  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 and GMP requirements
  • General maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
  • Working to all HSE standards
  • Willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager

Skills / Qualifications

  • Diploma / degree in chemistry
  • Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours (night / day / weekend) shifts if required or necessary
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
  • Solid math and spreadsheet skills, ability to perform accurate calculations
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory
