Warringtonfire is one of the fastest-growing organisations within the Testing, Inspection & Certification sector. We exist to ensure that the materials, products, and processes we test, inspect, and certify for our clients in the construction, marine, aviation, and rail industries are always safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. As a graduate fire assessment engineer, you'll have the unique opportunity to work closely with qualified professionals, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and challenging environment. Through your work, you'll gain exposure to a range of disciplines within the fire industry, including building materials, materials science, product installation, engineering, construction, product certification, and fire-related product development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical engineering reports in relation to the fire performance of products, designs, and elements of construction
  • Plan test programmes in liaison with clients and the relevant testing departments
  • Work with the manager, colleagues, and team to increase knowledge of roles, standards, and the service provided by all; put effort into improving technical and decision-making skills for yourself and the team
  • Assist in scoping and preparation of formal quotes
  • Maintain a consistent technical approach to assessments with other Warringtonfire technical teams globally

Skills / Qualifications

  • Engineering background with AQF level 7 (bachelor degree) or higher
  • Professional qualification in structural engineering is preferred
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings
  • Keen interest in all aspects of fire safety
  • Current (recent) knowledge of conducting, witnessing, and/or analysing test data, including mode of failure analysis
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with relevant local and international fire standards is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication and technical report writing
