  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a HSEQ Coordinator to join our growing team based in Warrington. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global Testing, Inspection & Certification business.

     

    Responsibilities

    Quality

     

    • Carry out horizontal audits on a monthly basis
    • Carry out Vertical audits- one per month alternate between labs
    • Complete monthly quality report
    • Take full responsibility for calibration of all equipment both internally and externally
    • Create or review uncertainty of measurement spreadsheets for internal calibrations
    • Create test methods and Standrd Operation Procedures (SOP's) for new tests being undertaken
    • Review all SOP's before or on due date
    • Create and action a comparison test programme with various organizations
    • Take lead role in UKAS visits in respect to internal audits
    • Chair and minute all Warrington site quality meetings
    • Investigate and close out client complaints
    • Take lead role in any third party customer site audits
    • Identify corrective and preventive actions for all labs
    • Review customer feedback forms to determine areas of improvement needed
    • Ensure Lab portfolio is reviewed and kept updated at regular intervals
       

    Health & Safety

    • Carry out monthly audits and close out any findings
    • Complete monthly workplace inspection report
    • Take responsibility to record and close out all incidents and near misses on intranet
    • Ensure weekly fire checks and drills are carried out
    • Create and review all risk assessments for Warrington site
    • Ensure all statutory examinations are carried out before or on due date
    • Ensure all employees have the correct Personal Protective Equipment in place and have been trained in its use
    • Ensure the emergency plan and disaster recovery plan are reviewed regularly and updated if necessary
    • Chair and minute all Warrington site H&S meetings
    • Ensure hazardous substance assessments are in place for all chemicals used
    • Ensure all employees have received the correct Health & Safety training
    • Ensure all safety bulletins are communicated to staff and the actions are completed prior to due date
    • Ensure all H&S inspections are carried on or before due date

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience within a similar HSEQ position
    • Experience within a United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited environment
    • Experience in completing Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessment
    • Qualification in Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) managing safely or equivalent is desired but not essential
    • The right aptitude and/or previous relevant experience will also be taken into account
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and oral
    • Self-starter with good organisation skills
    • Proactive, logical and methodical
    • Confident, punctual and well organised
    • Attention to detail
