Overview

Element has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join our Warringtonfire business. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of Element’s vision and strategy and objectives
  • Implement, review and report on the site’s annual plan and ensure it is correctly understood by the site’s management team and employees
  • Support the overall process of management and corporate decision making to ensure the site maximises its short, medium and long term profitability
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the business programmes, against scheme, accreditation and operational requirements
  • Ensure the site operating objectives and standards of performance are owned by the management team and employees
  • Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the site covering both financial and non-financial aspects of the business
  • Ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are established and complied with at all times. 
  • Management, compliance, monitoring, reporting and communication of financial and physical resources and all administrative functions
  • Ensure the site fully complies with all relevant legislation and best practice
  • Build and lead an effective, cohesive site management team to deliver on their individual and site objectives
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and processes

Skills / Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry with previous managerial and leadership responsibility (preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of Operational Excellence frameworks - Lean, Six Sigma (preferred)
  • Clear understanding of all aspects of financial planning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of people
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Basic Knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Active affiliation with appropriate networks and organisations and ongoing continuous professional development
