Overview

Element has an exciting opportunity for an Induced Effects of Lightning Test Engineer. You will be responsible for assisting customers with the certification of aircraft and aircraft systems against the effects of lightning strikes to aircraft, through test, modelling and advisory services. You will join a specialist team, working for a leading Testing, Inspection and Certification company, Making Tomorrow Safer Than Today...

 

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out testing, recording and assessing the test data
  • Modelling and analysing customer aircraft/systems to advise on lightning protection
  • Writing reports on the findings of the test and analysis programmes
  • Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
  • Supporting other members of the team in diverse test programmes

Skills / Qualifications

  • A background in testing & measurement would be great but is not essential, we would be open to see transferable experience from within the Engineering or Manufacturing sectors
  • We would also be keen to engage with recent Graduates with engineering and aviation qualifications
  • Practical hands-on approach, aptitude for experimental testing and problem solving
  • Possess good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • The role will involve visits to customers and tests/inspection of aircraft and systems so you will be required to SC cleared (which will be arranged upon employment, subject to eligibility), and due to the nature of our work you must be a UK national

Ideal but not essential:

 

• Familiarity with modelling and simulation concepts
• Experience of Programming
• Knowledge of High Voltage systems would be beneficial but not a requirement
• Ideally a Full UK driving licence
