Overview

Element have an excellent opportunity for a Technical Sales Advisor within our Commercial and Technical Sales team at our Deeside Environmental laboratory. 

 

Element Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world. 

 

The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support, and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver.  The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data in the format of choice.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to incoming enquiries & liaising with existing customers, using phone, email, web conferencing etc
  • Developing and following up on quotations in a timely manner, providing clarification and modifications when required
  • Depending on prior experience, utilising technical knowledge to advise customers of options (engaging with in-house technical specialists where required)
  • Actively utilising the Customer Relationship Management (Dynamics 365) system to record enquiries and activities and manage opportunities
  • Reviewing and processing proforma invoices prior to issue
  • Ability to work flexibly in a busy environment with an established team and processes
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience within a laboratory / technical sales environment, or as a customer of environmental testing services, would be highly advantageous
  • A science degree and / or experience working within a technical environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or similar package
  • A team player with a positive attitude, able to work in a dynamic environment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently, producing quality work
