Overview

Element has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our busy Sample Reception department based at our laboratories in Deeside.  

 

Element Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world.  The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver.  The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data in the format of choice.

Responsibilities

  • Receipt of customer consignments and accurately registering sample descriptions/details into the business bespoke LIMS system quickly and efficiently
  • Labelling of samples
  • Scanning samples into crates/locations
  • Delivery, retrieval, storage and disposal of samples and consumables to maintain the flow within the departments
  • Preparation of subcontracted samples for dispatch
  • Parcel distribution to individual departments

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Good General education including English and Maths
  • An individual with a positive attitude and good work ethic
  • The right aptitude and previous relevant experience will also be taken into account
  • Highly motivated and organised individual
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adhere to deadlines
