Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Facilities and Maintenance Manager  to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the site leadership team, the  position will be responsible for the maintenace team on site, ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained at all times including repairs, calibrations, development, engineering builds and is completed in line with a prevevntitve maintenance plan.

  

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Works safely following procedures and risk assessment
  • Ensure routine inspections, servicing, repairs, and replacements of equipment and facilities on the site are carried out to schedule and to minimise business disruption. 
  • Installation of new equipment across the site where required
  • Participate in the development of current and future equipment
  • Carries out, documents and organizes assigned daily statutory safety checks
  • Management of subcontractors, visitors, and risk assessments
  • Attends daily department meetings and feeds back information on outstanding repairs/maintenance
  • Develop procedures and train relevant colleagues
  • Daily line management of the team including task allocation
  • Responsible for the individual development of the team including annual appraisals and career development conversations

Skills / Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety
  • Engineering qualification  or equivalent experience in a hands-on maintenance or engineering role
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ Maintenance and Facilities to a senior level
  • Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business
  • Possess strong computer skills
  • Experience within TIC or a test laboratory environment would be an advantage
