Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our rapidly expanding team.

 

As a member of the operations team, the Machining position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. 

 

This position will be based in Abu Dhabi , UAE

 

Responsibilities

  • Use cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing as dictated by the requirements of specifications and standards
  • Perform a variety of grinding and machining tasks according to the instructions from the Supervisor based on applicable specifications and requirements
  • Understand the technical requirements for the specimens as advised and ensure compliance in terms of readiness of the specimens
  • Maintain equipment and follow all aspects of preventative maintenance , gathering and recording dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements

Skills / Qualifications

  • ITI certified or equivalent trade skills in machining along with working knowledge of laboratory/machine shop safety protocols & 2 years of relevant experience in a machining shop environment using manually operated machines
  • Well-developed understanding of specimen preparation and skilled in using machines, measuring instruments and dimensional concepts
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus and computer skills would be advantageous
  • Experience in driving a forklift is an advantage
  • Able to exert moderate physical force and able to lift <20kgs often and > 20kgs on occasion
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
