Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports. Candidates should ideally have gained considerable experience in construction material testing either with a commercial test house or contractor.

 

This position will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing of Bituminous Joint Filler Board, Bitumen Membrane, and PVC Membrane in accordance with ASTM and BSEN standards.
  • Conduct testing on Gypsum Board and Cement Board for quality and compliance.
  • Test Cement, Mortar, and Cementitious/Epoxy Grout materials for performance and specifications.
  • Perform tests on Tile Adhesive and Tile Grout to ensure proper bonding and durability.
  • Test Geotextile and Geogrid materials for strength, durability, and other necessary properties.
  • Prepare and compile reports

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Must possess a diploma or degree, preferably in science-related subjects
  • Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and sample logging is required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients during on-site activities
  • Adherence to laboratory quality practices, including the use of calibrated equipment, accurate documentation, and proper test request procedures
  • Experience in undergoing audits by external accreditation bodies is highly preferred
  • Capable of assigning tasks to assistant technicians for sample preparation and curing activities
