Element has an opportunity for an Immersion Ultrasonic Technician whose primary responsibility is to perform routine Inspection of forged components utilizing Immersion Ultrasonic Equipment and techniques facilitating operations at a laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the departments safety performance and awareness, promotes initiatives that drive a culture of safety first
  • Ensure the laboratory continues to comply with the requirements of ISO17025, Nadcap and customer requirements
  • Inspection of forged components utilising Immersion Ultrasonic Equipment and techniques
  • Perform tests, interpret and evaluate the results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications, document and report to the Customer
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment in order to ensure a satisfactory inspection
  • Ensure that testing is carried out to the relevant technical and quality specifications required by the Customer
  • Carry out any necessary preparation of parts before and after inspection in accordance with written instructions
  • Prepare and develop written instructions (data cards) from approved general procedures
  • Exercise assigned responsibility for the on-the-job training, guidance and supervision of trainees and Level 1 personnel.
  • Assisting with other NDT methods
  • Follow instruction from customer specifications and in house procedures under the supervision of Senior/Principal Technicians
  • Be willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution Element Materials Technology annual targets
  • Validation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and maintain high on time delivery and first time right performance

Skills / Qualifications

o xperio Experience in Aerospace or other heavily regulated sector
o ExperienceExperience in Aerospace or other heavily regulated sector
o Experience working within an engineering and / or Laboratory environment
o Level 2 qualified in Ultrasonic inspection, preferably with experience in Immersion Inspection.
o Level 1 or 2 qualified in LPI, MPI and/or ET would be beneficial.
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as testing procedures, NDT data cards, testing specifications and quality documentation.
o Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
o Good general standard of education including English and Math’s
o Excellent attention to detail
o Satisfactory oral and written communication skills to communicate testing results working within an engineering and / or Laboratory environment

o Level 2 qualified in Ultrasonic inspection, preferably with experience in Immersion 

o Ability to read and interpret documents such as testing procedures, NDT data cards, testing specifications and quality documentation.
o Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
o Good general standard of education including English and Math’s
o Excellent attention to detail
o Satisfactory oral and written communication skills to communicate testing resultssector

o Experience working within an engineering and / or Laboratory environment
o Level 2 qualified in Ultrasonic inspection, preferably with experience in Immersion Inspection.
