Overview

Filton Systems Engineering requires a versatile and innovative C&I Engineer to help support various projects covering several different industries (aero, defence, energy, space).  Candidates will be required to effectively translate the client’s needs and requirements, whilst working alongside the wider team to generate concepts and to develop and verify deliverable solutions. 

Responsibilities

  • Development and improvement of requirement specifications 
  • Requirements definition at system, sub-system, and equipment levels. 
  • C&I System architecture definition. 
  • Management and resolution of problems/queries that arise from development and qualification activity. 
  • Understand the impact of proposed changes current designs and perform studies to eliminate risks and ensure the continued viability.
  • Coordinate/support in design reviews. 
  • Generation and review of technical documentation to support verification activity. 
  • Support to other parallel programmes as required. 
  • Assembly and build of control systems hardware for test rigs. 
  • Labview and other control software programming.
  • Support to install/commissioning teams to resolve queries/issues during install, set to work and commissioning. 

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Resilience and flexibility. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills. 
  • Effectively communicate written technical information and produce concise and detailed technical high-quality reports. 
  • Appreciation of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and processes, including requirement elicitation and interface definition, identifying, and managing key design drivers’ modification development and formal verification and certification processes. 
  • An ability to work proactively and flexibly across several variant programmes.
