Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Microbiologist whose primary responsibility is to ensure the accurate and timely microbiological analysis of food, water, and environmental samples, maintaining compliance with international standards and ensuring the highest quality of results to support public health and client requirements.

 

This position will be based in Dammam, KSA

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiological analysis of food, water, and environmental samples according to standard methods (e.g., ISO, APHA, etc.)
  • Identify microbial contaminants such as pathogens and indicator organisms
  • Monitor microbial quality and safety parameters
  • Ensure all work complies with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and other relevant standards
  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including test reports, raw data, and documentation of quality control checks
  • Prepare microbiological media & reagents according to ISO 11133 standard
  • Stay updated with new technologies and best practices in microbiological testing
  • Involve in sample collection, handling, and storage to ensure integrity and validity
  • Assist with troubleshooting non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
  • Adhering to the company's Health & Safety and Quality standards and laboratory Practices are mandatory
  • Manual handling of samples
  • General maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
  • Adherence to quality and safety of Element policy

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Microbiology or related field
  • 3 - 5 years experience with microbiological testing of food and water
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and microbiological techniques
