Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with safe systems of work and company procedures to enable a safer working environment
  • Supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of parts
  • Enhancing, repairing, and maintaining all the plant equipment and plant services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule 
  • Installation and commission of new machinery and equipment projects
  • Continuous improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise efficiency 
  • Requesting spares / consumables required to support the engineering activities to be undertaken
  • Responsible for individual performance measures i.e. Downtime, work order request close outs, PM task completion, equipment availability, utilisation, budget, etc
  • Ensure that a clean, tidy and hazard free working environment is maintained during maintenance activities
  • Take a proactive approach to continually improve housekeeping standards in engineering workshops and plant rooms around the facility
  • Undertaking work of a predictive, preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance nature
  • Meet and exceed set KPI’s for safety, quality, and productivity
  • Ensure contractors are appropriately supervised, comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes 
  • Document and communicate as necessary comprehensive maintenance records
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and colleagues 
  • Ability to work shifts that will form part of this role (earlies and lates currently Monday to Friday) 

Skills / Qualifications

We will consider the following qualifications:

  • 4 years minimum apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering 
  • BTEC ONC / HNC / HND Electrical Engineering
  • City & Guilds 2365 / 8202 Electrical Engineering Level 2/3
  • Minimum qualification would be ONC or City & Guild 2365 Level 2 

Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of Hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, water, gas, compressed air systems, electrical fault finding, electrical safety awareness
  • Ideally a Forklift truck licence and mobile platform experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, PLC’s, Pneumatics, and other system
  • Read CAD drawings or SolidWorks
  • Multi-skilled 
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Obtaining specialist components
  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload of self and others
  • Self motivated with flexible approach to work
  • Good Interpersonal skills
