Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in the lab testing and new test development department. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. You will assist in the design, execution, and evaluation of tests for new products, technologies, or materials. This role requires technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative testing solutions.

 

This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new test protocols and procedures,support the execution of laboratory tests, ensuring accurate and reliable results and collaborate with senior engineers and researchers to optimize testing methodologies
  • Conduct tests under controlled conditions and document findings and record and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Utilize statistical tools and software to analyze data and generate reports and present findings to senior engineers, offering insights and potential improvements
  • Ensure all testing activities are conducted in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functioning correctly and contribute to the development of best practices to improve testing efficiency and accuracy
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams, to ensure testing aligns with development goals.  Able to mmunicate progress and results to team members and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner and participate in team meetings and provide updates on test status and development progress
  • Maintain thorough and organized documentation of all test procedures, results, and reports, prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations based on test outcomes and must assist in the preparation of regulatory documentation when needed

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or Materials Science or related field
  • Relevant working experience of 1 to 3 years in a lab testing, engineering, or a related field (entry-level candidates with relevant academic experience are welcome
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions
  • Familiarity with lab testing equipment and software and high proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience with test development in a specific industry (e.g. materials testing)
  • • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, ASTM) or have relevant hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrometers, or similar
