Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Global Head of Cybersecurity Certification to join our team. This exciting new role will ideally suit a cyber security expert who wants to lead on this for certification in Element. The role will form part of the certification team and be responsible for reviewing cybersecurity projects and issuing certifications accordingly. Additionally, as cybersecurity becomes mandatory in many regions around the world for devices, this role will be responsible for understanding the requirements and evolving our own certifications and accreditations to allow for Element to offer these services to our clients

 

Responsibilities

  • Technically lead Element Element’s cybersecurity evaluation service 
  • Identify and maintain new and existing cybersecurity requirements (as they relate to products) for Element’s Connected Technology BU. 
  • Working with Cybersecurity Test Manager, train and mentor junior staff and peers in cybersecurity 
  • Maintain ‘state-of-art-art’ knowledge of product based cybersecurity requirements within Element Materials Technology and ensure this information is shared and trained across the business 
  • Provide cybersecurity assessments of products to ensure they meet the applicable certification scheme rules (such as RED, Cyber Trust Mark, CRA, PSTI) 
  • Be technically competent with sufficient training and experience of cyber security principles as it relates to equipment; and have sound technical and vocational training; 
  • Be able to demonstrate:  
    - Familiarity with EN 303 645, EN18031 (series) 
    - Understanding of RED, the Red Guide and the Blue Guide,  
    - Understanding of the role of the NB and its scope,  
    - An understanding of the Essential Requirements in Article 3 of the Directive.  
    - An understanding of the harmonized standards listed in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU), understanding of the meaning of and use of the Date of cessation of presumption of conformity and restrictions listed against certain harmonised standards,  
    - Knowledge of how to conduct a review of the technical construction file information,  
    - Knowledge of what information is to be included in the NB report that supports the EU Type Examination Certificate,  
    - Knowledge of how to prepare an EU Type Examination Certificate (contents),  
    - Familiarity with the Technical Guidance Notes and REFDOCs published by the Radio Equipment Directive Compliance Association (REDCA)
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of the essential requirements (Article 3), of the applicable harmonised standards and of the relevant provisions of Union harmonisation legislation and of national legislation;  
  • Have the ability to draw up EU – Type Examination Certificates, records and reports demonstrating that assessments have been carried out;  
  • Be familiar with the Element scheme rules, this procedure and the application of REDCA decisions and guidance (see section 7 of this procedure).To provide support and motivation to the team (in support to, and as directed by, the
  • Department/Laboratory Manager) in relation to the delivery of ongoing project work and general operations activity. 
  • Attend customer meetings to provide technical support in regards to technical queries relating to project status or affecting progress. 
  • To provide occasional technical support to the Commercial team (e.g. Sales Applications Engineers) to assist in the preparation of quotations specific to cyber security 
  • To ensure that commercial confidentiality is maintained. 
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty as directed by the line manager 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent, plus minimum 5 years’ experience
