Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Trainee Radiographic Technician to work at our facility in Dudley 39 hrs 6am-2pm Monday- Friday and 2pm-10pm Monday- Friday  (no lunch) Paid 20 min break. You will be responsible for assisting radiographic testing on components and parts used in Aerospace and the defence sector. Responsibilities

  • Assist radiography (X-ray & Gamma) tests in accordance with written company procedures
  • A high proportion of manual handling of components is required
  • Help prepare components for test, setup, and adjust test equipment
  • Assist in the maintenance of related test equipment and tools in good working condition
  • Completion of assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Ideally educated to a good level in maths, science or mechanical engineering 
  • Takes the initiative
  • Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
  • Leads and assigns the work of others when needed
  • Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets / goals set by supervisor
  • Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers, works on well delineated technical issues
  • Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions
