Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Field based Trainee Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to join our growing team based from Stockport, covering North of England.

 

As a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor, you will undergo a comprehensive 6-month training programme on site and based at our Stockport Office. Training is delivered both in-house and on client sites, giving you the practical experience and theoretical knowledge required to achieve your BOHS P402 qualification.
Once qualified, you’ll carry out asbestos surveys on a wide range of properties, from commercial and industrial buildings—always adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards.

Our Asbestos teams are experts in their field of conducting Asbestos Surveys, Analytical Services, Asbestos Management and Air Testing as well as many other environmental services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in a challenging asbestos environment.

 

 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing:

Closely involved as a contributing team member with a variety of assignments  within the workplace.

Accountable for technical activities of a limited scope (i.e. assisting on surveys) and may attain additional responsibilities to contribute to the day to day running of the business

 

• Assist with and learn to conduct asbestos surveys on properties
• Use a tablet to accurately record site data and findings
• Understand and apply legislation related to asbestos surveying
• Work closely with other team members, and members of the public in professional environments
• Travel to various client sites across the Northwest—and occasionally beyond
• Participate in weekend rotas and work away from home when required

 

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Commitment to Training: You must be eager to learn and ready to commit to passing the BOHS P402 qualification
  • Strong Work Ethic: This role requires focus, attention to detail, and reliability
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in diverse environments—schools, hospitals, factories, and more
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You’ll interact with a range of people and team members, so clear and professional communication is essential
  • Team Player: Able to work well within a supportive team culture while also managing your own workload
  • Possesses the ability to learn following a set training programme achieving the timescales set out within the plan, working closely with their allocated mentor
