Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Project Manager.  This role is a key function in servicing our clients by ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to their demands, delivering efficient and excellent performance.  The Project Manager has daily responsibility to technically supervise testing operations and give clear technical guidance as necessary across a wide range of the laboratory's testing capabilities.

 

This role is based in Kaki Bukit, Singapore. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to the team
  • Plan daily operation for execution as per agreed timelines with customers
  • Liaise with clients and consultants on technical issues
  • Train the technicians/operator on the job requirements
  • Strive and achieve 100% customer satisfaction by timely reports, by providing technical advice to clients, when needed and proactively anticipate and satisfy the client needs
  • Be abreast with the latest developments in the field, stay in line/ahead with the budget
  • Any other duties and responsibilities assigned and agreed from time to time
  • Conduct periodic team meetings with specific emphasis on Health and Safety, technical updates, etc
  • Co-ordinate for periodic training for the team
  • Represent the site services in project and client meetings
  • Motivate the team for superior performance and be a conduit between employees needs and the company
  • Plan and Manage department employees leave with minimum effect on the operations
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Departmental responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recommending rewards and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.
  • Monitor day-to-day health and safety in their section of responsibility and ensure all hazards, near misses and accidents are reported and ensure 5S is maintain

Skills / Qualifications

  • Analytical problem solving skills, highly organised & excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication and adaptable and flexible in approach
  • Experience working within an appropriate environment
  • Ability to support the training of others to a high technical standard
  • Familiarity with national and international testing standards
  • Familiarity with a wide range of supporting software tools, highly IT literate
  • Working towards or member status of a relevant professional body
  • Enough skills and knowledge to quicly gain procedure and report sign off status within the laboratory
  • A formal qualification in an appropriate scientific discipline at degree level or above would be held, preferably in Polymers
  • Familiar with a wide range of materials conversion techniques including injection moulding, extrusion, calendaring, blow moulding, cast and blow film.
  • Familiar with a wide range of physical test methods, including tensile, flexural, compression, torsion modes
