Position Overview


In this pivotal role, you'll act as the interface between our technical and product teams, translating product requirements into technically focused deliverables, proactively identifying technical limitations and communicating developer insights to the wider team. You’ll help to shape clear technical requirements and empower our developers to create impactful solutions at pace. Responsibilities

  • Interpret user stories into clear, actionable technical requirements that developers can execute against 
  • Work with stakeholders including the Director of Technology, Principal Product Manager and development team to ensure technical solutions are aligned to wider strategy and business goals 
  • Act as an expert translator, using your skills and experience to communicate technical risks, opportunities and blockers to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Develop and maintain artifacts to support seamless and efficient software development processes, e.g. technical roadmap, process flow diagrams and documentation 
  • Use your deep understanding of data to lead the technical team in developing the necessary database structures, data pipelines and contracts to deliver the functionality on our product roadmap 
  • Where necessary, liaise with thirds party data owners and advise our team on the most appropriate methods of ingesting, versioning and maintaining our data 
  • Take part in and lead Agile ceremonies including refinement, sprint planning and retro 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to set appropriate KPIs for our development team and create and maintain management information reports to proactively monitor them 
  • Monitor and control our cost base by maintaining and overview of our running costs 
  • Proactively monitor the market and drive continuous improvements in our tech stack by identifying new and better technologies and tools; and leading ‘buy vs build’ analysis where required 

Skills / Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's/Master’s/PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.  

Technical Product Ownership

  • Proven experience managing technical B2B SaaS products with a track record of driving meaningful technical improvements and architectural innovation 
  • Demonstrated ability to guide impactful engineering outcomes by clearly articulating problems and crafting precise, actionable requirements 
  • Experience providing supporting wireframes, flow diagrams, data structures/contracts, or prototypes that empower engineering teams to deliver outstanding solutions 
  • Strong track record leading end-to-end delivery processes, collaborating with engineering and delivery teams to navigate timelines and trade-offs

Technical Expertise

  • Strong technical background in software engineering with solid understanding of modern web technologies and ecosystems 
  • Deep understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), and common cloud platforms and architecture 
  • Experience with data structures, technical integrations, and capability mapping across complex systems 
  • Familiarity with common tools for testing and validation

Agile Delivery

  • Demonstrated skill defining clear roadmaps for technically sophisticated products 
  • Ability to define, monitor, and analyse key product metrics using data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement 
  • Experience with feature planning and documentation including user flows, wireframes, and acceptance criteria 
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Collaboration & Communication

  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, data teams, and business stakeholders in cross-functional environments 
  • Experience leading UAT and critiquing technical outputs to ensure solutions are feasible, viable, and scalable 
  • Skilled at managing dependencies between technical roles to ensure timely delivery of functionality
