  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a FIRAS Inspector to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global TIC business.

     

    This role in our FIRAS Site Inspection team would suit a candidate with a sound knowledge of the application / installation of fire protection products, who is looking for a relevant career change to move into a site inspection role. The role involves the inspection of installations of products in buildings in support of our FIRAS certification scheme and our 3rd party site inspection services.

     

    The position is home based, applications from candidates in the South East and London areas would be particularly welcome. The position requires travel across the UK and Ireland as and when the business requires.

    Responsibilities

    • Organising and conducting assessments of applicant installer companies against documented procedures and completing the required documentation
    • Organising and conducting site inspections of installed constructions against documented procedures and completing the required documentation
    • Organising and conducting competency assessments of supervisors and operatives employed by FIRAS certified companies
    • Conducting / reporting site inspections against requirements of individual contracts
    • Ensuring all clients and enquirers receive sound technical advice

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience at a technical level in passive fire protection either with a contractor, product manufacturer or testing and approval body
    • Experience within relevant industry sectors (ie construction, specialist coatings, joinery)
    • Good general education, including English and Maths
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • On-site inspection / auditing experience
    • Experience in a customer-facing role
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Be able to prioritise, organise and coordinate your workload
    • Ability to work on your own initiative
    • Keen eye for detail and process
    • Willingness to travel across the UK
    • Clean driving license and full UK passport
