Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Passivation Trainee to join the Dudley plant. This role involves learning and developing the skills required to perform passivation processes in accordance with industry standards, Nadcap requirements, and company procedures. The role is entry-level, with full training and supervised experience provided, leading to authorised status upon successful completion of the trainee programme.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake passivation processing of parts under direct supervision during the initial training period
  • Gain a minimum of 1 month supervised experience before assessment for independent processing
  • Maintain accurate records of training, processing activities, and audits as per QAF-130C requirements
  • Participate in end-of-training proficiency audits (in line with SOP E-E-AS-NDT-SOP028) to demonstrate competency
  • Support approved operators and supervisors in day-to-day passivation activities
  • Adere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements in the plant
  • Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, and customer-specific requirements
  • Participate in any supplementary training or audits as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • • No prior experience in passivation is required — full training will be provided.
    • An interest in engineering, chemistry, or surface treatment processes is desirable.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
    • Ability to follow procedures and work effectively under supervision.
    • Basic computer skills for recording training and process data.
    • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
