  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Workshop Technician whose primary responsibility is to prepare samples for testing within the metallurgy and mechanical test departments.

    Responsibilities

    • Machining of all type of threads, grooves, soft seats, seat pocket, valve body, stem, plug & seat, strainer, gaskets, flanges & various type gates
    • Machining of various mechanical test samples, mainly metallic, from materials such as:
      • carbon steel
      • stainless steels
      • duplex stainless steels
      • nickel based alloys
    • Preparing test metallic and non-metallic specimens as per drawings provided within the international test standards

    • Working in line with health and safety procedures

    • Prepare test metallic and non-metallic specimens as per drawings provided within the international test standards

    • Working with machines for lathes, milling drilling & grinding

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Working experience on machines for lathes, milling drilling & grinding
    • Adequate knowledge in the field manufacturing of all components any valves such as ball valve, gate valves, butterfly valves, control valves, NRV, SSV, HCV & PSV etc
    • Experience working with bandsaws, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mills and CNC lathe
    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
