Overview

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to lead and perform standardized physical and mechanical testing on concrete materials and Soil Materials. This role requires high technical precision, data integrity, and the ability to oversee laboratory operations according to International Standards. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and compliance of testing on construction sites and laboratory. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional dedicated to accuracy and safety.

 

This position will be based in Dubai, UAE (Site Based).

 

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Testing: Conduct compressive and modulus of elasticity tests on concrete specimens. Perform Fresh concrete testing and In-situ Density and Plate load tests
  • Quality Control: Calibrate laboratory equipment (compression machines, scales, ovens) and maintain rigorous logs to ensure compliance with standards
  • Data Management: Calculate and record test results; prepare formal technical reports for Project Managers and Clients
  • Sample Management: Oversee the curing environment (moisture rooms/tanks) to ensure temperature and humidity remain within specified limits
  • Documentation: Maintain precise, legible, and timely field logs, including environmental conditions, batch ticket information, and test results
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain testing apparatus (slump cones, air meters, scales) to ensure long-term reliability
  • Site Safety: Adhere to all and company safety protocols while navigating active construction environments

Skills / Qualifications

  • ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician (Required) or should be capable to achieve the certification attending the examination on behalf of the company
  • Physical Strength: Must be able to lift and carry concrete molds and equipment (up to 25kg) throughout the day
  • Reliability: Strong work ethic and punctuality, as site testing must happen exactly when the concrete arrives
  • Communication: Basic English to follow instructions and label specimens accurately
