Overview

We are looking for an accurate and efficient Data Entry Operator to join our Laboratory Team. You will be responsible for the high-volume input of soil, concrete, and aggregate test data. The ideal candidate will have prior experience handling construction laboratory data sheets and will be familiar with the terminology used in ASTM, BS EN, and ISO testing standards.

 

This position will be based in Dubai, UAE (Site Based).

 

Responsibilities

  • Data Transcription: Accurately enter raw data from hand-written field sheets (FDT, Slump tests, Casting logs) into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or Excel templates
  • Strength Result Processing: Input crushing loads (kN) for concrete cubes and cylinders and calculate the resulting Compressive Strength (MPa)
  • Technical Formatting: Assist in preparing formal test reports for Durability (RCPP, Water Permeability) and Soil mechanics (Proctor, Sieve Analysis)
  • Cross-Checking: Verify that Sample IDs, dates, and project codes on the data sheets match the official laboratory register
  • Archiving: Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system for all raw data sheets to ensure they are easily retrievable for audits
  • Deadline Management: Ensure all daily test results are entered before the end of the shift to facilitate timely reporting to clients

Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of data entry experience, preferably within a Civil Engineering Laboratory or a Construction QC department
  • Technical Familiarity: Basic understanding of concrete and soil testing
  • Speed & Accuracy: High typing speed (45+ WPM) with a near-zero error rate
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas), LIMS and Word
  • Language: Good command of English to accurately transcribe technical remarks and descriptions
