Overview

The Associate Engineer will support laboratory and on-site testing of curtain wall, door, and window systems in accordance with applicable international standards. The role involves hands-on execution of performance tests, test setup, instrumentation handling, data collection, and preparation of technical reports.

The position requires close coordination with senior engineers, strict adherence to testing procedures, and the ability to work in both laboratory environments and active construction sites. The Associate Engineer is expected to demonstrate strong technical discipline, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn applicable testing methodologies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup, execution, and monitoring of laboratory and on-site tests for curtain wall, door, and window systems
  • Perform testing in accordance with approved international standards (ASTM / EN / ISO) and internal procedures
  • Handle testing equipment and instrumentation including pressure systems, displacement gauges, load application systems, and data acquisition tools
  • Record test observations, readings, and results accurately and systematically during testing
  • Support preparation of test reports, including data compilation, photographs, sketches, and observations
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements during laboratory and site testing activities
  • Assist senior engineers in troubleshooting test setup issues and identifying non-conformities during testing
  • Maintain test area readiness, including basic equipment checks and housekeeping
  • Coordinate with internal teams and site personnel to ensure test readiness and smooth execution
  • Follow laboratory quality procedures and maintain traceability of test data and records

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of experience in testing, construction, façade, or building envelope system(Fresh graduates with relevant academic exposure or site experience will also be considered)
  • Basic understanding of curtain wall, door, and window systems or building façade components
  • Familiarity with laboratory or on-site testing environments (performance testing, inspection, or construction activities)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, test standards, and procedures
  • Working knowledge (or strong willingness to learn) international testing standards such as ASTM / EN / ISO
  • Basic proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word for data recording and report preparation
  • Willingness to perform hands-on, physical testing work in laboratory and construction site environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow test procedures accurately
  • Ability to work under time constraints and during extended or irregular working hours when testing demands
  • Good communication skills for internal coordination, customer liaising and reporting
  • Awareness of safety practices in laboratory and site conditions
