Element has an opportunity for a Chemistry Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports.
- Prepare soil and environmental samples for chemical analysis (drying, grinding, sieving, digestion and extraction).
- Perform routine laboratory analyses using standard test methods and SOPs.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, pH and conductivity meters.
- Prepare reagents, calibration standards and quality control samples.
- Conduct instrument calibration, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Record and review analytical data accurately in laboratory worksheets or LIMS.
- Perform quality control checks and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Maintain good laboratory housekeeping and adhere to laboratory safety procedures.
- Support method validation, proficiency testing, internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
- NITEC or Diploma in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with laboratory experience in environmental or soil analysis will have an advantage.
- Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory is preferred.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS or UV-Vis is an advantage.
- Good laboratory practices, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Good communication and time management skills.
