  • Group Finance Manager

  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for a Group Finance Manager. The role is based in London and sits within the Group Reporting team. Directly reporting to the Director of Group Reporting, the Group Finance Manager will lead the team that has a key role in delivering insightful and accurate financial information to the Board and senior management teams.


    The role involves review and analysis of commercial performance, monitoring and improving working capital and the continuous improvement in systems and controls.


    It requires the partnering with various key stakeholders such as the Group FP&A team, Shared Service Centre Teams, Operations, Sales & Commercial, Legal, M&A, IT and local finance teams within the laboratories across the Group. Given the fast-paced nature of the business there is also the opportunity to get involved in supporting a variety of ad hoc finance projects across multi-disciplinary team


    • Management of Group consolidation including cashflows and balance sheet
    • Timely and accurate delivery of monthly board, shareholder and bank reports
    • Digitisation of reports and improvements to the management dashboards
    • Review and understanding of key monthly performance drivers
    • Management of the Group holding companies including monthly close process
    • Management and review of monthly group exceptional costs reporting
    • Management of year-end reporting process and audit of the Group holding companies
    • Involvement in a wide variety of Group finance related project work
    • Responsible for 1 – 2 direct reports

    Skills / Qualifications

    Critical requirements:

    • Recognised professional accounting qualification (e. ACA, ACCA)
    • Comfortable working in a multi-currency environment and global business
    • Flexible and comfortable in a changing, growing environment
    • Self-starter with ability to work on their own initiative
    • Confident with good interpersonal, communication and listening skills
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a detailed understanding of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

    Desirable requirements:

    • Significant post-qualification experience
    • Working knowledge of consolidation systems, preferably Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) consolidation system
    • Experience of working in a Private Equity environment
