  • Overview

    Element has an opportunity for an Application Sales Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for conversion of more complex requests for quotes (RFQ’s) to high quality bids and quotations. You will establish and maintain a strong relationship with clients throughout the sales cycle: proactively following up on leads for future business opportunities, being responsible for following up and converting more complex RFQs to high quality quotations per customer expectations and making detailed testing proposals. 

     

    The Application Sales Engineer must be able to articulate Element testing to both business and technical users. They must be able to identify all technical requirements of assigned accounts to assure quotations are complete and professional.  In addition to client relations, this role will interact with the Element Sales Team, General Manager, and lab personnel. The ideal candidate will be customer focused, action oriented, approachable and patience.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Qualify applications with assistance of certification BDA/ BDM
    • Work closely with certification engineers, testing department and auditors to create precise certification quotes based on customer requirements.
    • Follow up on quotes, convert to opportunities and progress
    • Contact clients to qualify and understand the customers certification requirements
    • Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers, acting as a liaison between the customers and Element
    • Manage relationships and utilize technical support to assist in Sales
    • Follow up in a timely manner on quotations for the assigned customer base
    • Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, duplicates are removed, new information is added and accurate call / activity logs
    • Actively participate in regular pipeline reviews, ensuring all CRM records are up to date and critical success factors are identified for key opportunities
    • Achieve sales goals by converting and penetrating accounts
    • Build and maintain a working knowledge of Element’s service offerings; participate in training/coaching opportunities
    • Ensure compliance with all Element policies including but not limited to terms and conditions, trade compliance, treatment of others, moral code of conduct, and employee handbook
    • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws pertaining to safety, environment and corporate governance

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Experience of customer service, or account management
    • Good grammar and knowledge of systems CRM an advantage
