  • Overview

    BM Trada, part of the Element Group, has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our rapidly expanding product certification team in High Wycombe.


    This is a great opportunity to develop your career within the Product Certification team of BM TRADA, providing certification to companies involved in the production and installations of products used in the construction industry. Reporting to the Business Unit Head you will work closely with the existing functional team heads in order to maximise the operational efficiency of the complete team whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality and service.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Day to day management of the financial operations of the business unit ensuring that financial practices and procedures are adhered to and that our financial objectives are achieved
    • Day to day management of the certification operations of the business unit ensuring that all certification activities are carried out in line with our accreditation requirements in what is a varied and technically demanding environment
    • Provide technical, operational and commercial leadership in the day-to-day activities of the team to achieve the primary objectives of safety, quality and service delivery that Element and its clients require
    • Monitoring performance and working with the team to meet our safety, customer service, on time delivery and quality indices

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Qualified within a scientific or technical discipline
    • Experience within an operational management position with P&L responsibility in a customer facing commercial operation role
    • A demonstrable track record of success of technical and commercial competency in a senior role
    • Experience in working in a 5S & SDQC environment of continuous improvement
    • A knowledge of factory production control process, certification activities and British & European product standards would be an advantage
      Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Experience of training and mentoring others
    • Ability to delegate, hold others accountable, and communicate expectations
    • Possessing a high level of attention to detail
    • Well organised, with excellent numeracy and communication skills, both oral and written
    • Pragmatic, able to resolve conflict and with the ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure to meet deadlines with differing priorities
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
    • Strategic thinker able to make clear decisions and present them effectively
    • Highly flexible with proactive approach to tasks with the ability to lead by example embodying core company values; quality and professional integrity
