Trainee Analyst - Inorganics

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a new Trainee Analyst to join our busy LC / Inorganics Department based at our Deeside laboratory.

 

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and analysing routine and non-routine samples using the following techniques, HPLC-ECD, HPLC-UV/Vis, LCMSMS, IC, CVAF, UV-Vis and general wet chemistry.
  • Performing routine instrument calibration and maintenance.
  • Method development and troubleshooting supported by the Inorganics Manager.
  • Reporting of results using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with internal and external quality systems
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Educated to at least A Level in Chemistry or equivalent
  • The successful candidate will also ideally be educated to degree level in a science related subject or will have gained laboratory experience
  • Highly motivated and organised individual
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines

This position would also suit a Graduate chemist
