Element a une opportunité pour un chargé de projet en essais de peintures pour se joindre à notre équipe en croissance. Le laboratoire de Montréal est à la recherche d’un chargé de projets pour ses essais de peinture dans le domaine aérospatial. Se rapportant au directeur des opérations, la personne choisie aura deux mandats principaux. Dans un premier temps, il sera appelé à développer des nouvelles méthodes et instructions de travail. Par la suite, il devra gérer des projets tant au niveau de leur réalisation que de leur coordination.

 

Element has an opportunity for a Paint Test project manager to join our rapidly expanding team. The Montreal laboratory is looking for a paint test project manager to carry out tests on paints used in the aeronautical field. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the selected person will have two main mandates. Initially, he/she will be called upon to complete the development of tests and work instructions. Subsequently, he/she will have to manage projects both in terms of their performance and their coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Développer et rédiger des procédures d’essai
  • Réaliser des essais de caractérisation physique des échantillons de peinture (viscosité, adhésion, impact, corrosion) selon des standards établis et des instructions de travail
  • Peindre des panneaux témoins
  • Préparer, utiliser et maintenir en état de fonctionnement les équipements d’essai
  • Coordonner l’envoi d’échantillons chez les fournisseurs et la réception de certificats d’analyse
  • Rassembler et consigner les résultats d’essais
  • Réviser des certificats d'analyse
  • Rédiger des rapports d’analyse

 

  • Develop and write test procedures
  • Perform physical characterization tests of paint samples (viscosity, adhesion, impact, corrosion) according to established standards and work instructions
  • Painting witness panels
  • Prepare, use and maintain test equipment in working order
  • Coordinate the sending of samples to suppliers and the receipt of certificates of analysis
  • Gather and record the test results
  • Review certificate of conformance
  • Write test certificate

Skills / Qualifications

  • Diplôme universitaire en génie chimique ou en chimie
  • Connaissances dans le domaine du contrôle de la qualité des peintures ou de leur application, ou autre expérience pertinente
  • Autonomie et sens de l’organisation du travail
  • Habiletés manuelles
  • Travailler de façon sécuritaire ou la santé et la sécurité sont prioritaires
  • Connaissance du français et de l’anglais à un niveau fonctionnel professionnel

 

  • University degree in Chemistry or chemical engineering
  • Autonomy and sense of work organization
  • Knowledge in the field of paint quality control, application or quality, or other pertinent exeperience
  • Manual skills
  • Work safely or health and safety is a priority
  • Fluent in French and English at a professional functional level
