Overview

Element has an opportunity for a new Site Manager, based at Element Metech Taastrup facility near Copenhagen. This role is strategically aligned to Element’s purpose – Customers are Safe, Quality, Compliant, and Fit for Purpose.

 

Responsible for all operational aspects of the site you will play a key part in the continued development of our Taastrup site. The Taastrup site has special focus on calibration and metrological service for the Life Science industry as well as electronic and acoustic calibration for Life Science and general industry.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the role will provide operational support and have responsibility for the efficient and orderly operation of all aspects of the Taastrup site.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Embrace Elements number one value – Safety, with active leadership & guidance
  • Responsible for the sites safety performance and awareness, spearheading initiatives that drives a culture of Safety first
  • Proactively report Safety, Health, & Environment Incidents / Near Misses / Hazard ID’s
  • Active involvement of incident investigation, utilising 5 Why, Root Cause analysis skills
  • Responsible for the effective delivery of daily SQDC meetings, collating associated data and reporting KPI’s
  • Management of all employees in the Life Science, Electronics and Acoustics departments
  • Ensure that the company's services are delivered to customers in a quality that lives up to customers' expectations, and that agreed delivery times are met
  • Effective leadership of the site creating a high performing team, ensuring operational effectiveness at all time through employee engagement, training & development
  • Be focused on a close collaboration with Element Metech Denmark's other sites as well as other Element Metech calibration laboratories
  • Work closely with sales and the company's Management Group in the development of future services for our customers
  • Continuously improve the site through striving to reduce costs and by challenging traditional methods
  • Demonstrates Element values by taking an active approach in striving for Operational Excellence
  • Harness 5S and Operational Excellence methods to ensure operations run in a lean manner
  • In collaboration with the company's finance department create financial reports and control of commercially sensitive and confidential documents
  • Take the lead and show the way through example for the employees on site
  • Support the sales function in connection with meetings with new and existing customers
  • Responsible for sustaining high standards in the overall facility appearance, ensuring the site remains at a high level of housekeeping at all times
  • Effective management of company assets to deliver operational targets / goals with minimum impact to service whilst maintaining equipment service/inspection requirements

Skills / Qualifications

  • Site management experience within a production, operational, engineering, calibration or testing facility environment
  • Experience leading a diverse multi-disciplined workforce of >20 reports
  • Qualification and in Health, Safety and Quality leadership / Degree in a technical discipline would be an advantage
  • Proven leadership within an operational environment, ideally within calibration and measurement techniques
  • Professional individual with commercial acumen and aptitude as well as market knowledge
  • Understanding of how to extract and leverage value from technical experts
  • Proven in change management, ability to adapt to new practices, motivate and empower employees
  • Proven track record of success in regard to continuously improving site safety and operational performance (right first time, on time delivery, P&L)
