Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Medical Device testing team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures

 

Responsibilities

  • Support testing of electrical medical devices to key National and International safety standards (such as 60601-1)
  • Generate technical test report which will be used as part of MHRA, FDA and other national regulatory certifications for medical devices around the world.
  • Supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
  • Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
  • Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
  • Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
  • Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
  • Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
  • Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
  • Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions

Skills / Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of laboratory quality aspects around ISO 17025.
  • Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline
  • Possess a degree or similar in an electrical biased background.
  • Previous experience of testing to cores standards such as 60601-1, 60601-1-11 and 60601-1-12 would be an advantage
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications
  • Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business
  • Can analyse and compiles testing data from the tests performed
  • Possess strong computer skills
  • Ability to discuss technical issues or questions with customers. Keen focus on customer service
