Overview

Element has an opportunity for a new Systems Accountant to join our growing team on an 18 month fixed term contract. With the alignment of the financial reporting policies and practises Element has an opportunity for a Systems Accountant to join our growing team. In this role you will be a key member of the group finance team which supports the global finance community and the wider business from a financial / practical point of view.

 

An accounting background is required as it will be called upon to deal with month-end queries and reporting issues.  There will be a strong focus on supporting Dynamics AX and working with Atlas for report writing. Looking forward, we are implementing a CPM soluton to centralise reporting and dashboarding and we're looking to integrate and roll out a D365 system as the standard ERP system across the group, so experience with D365 and PowerBI will be beneficial.

 

In addition to helping to up-skill the global finance team with training, documentation and workshops, the background to this is the drive to implement a set of standardised finance practices/policies. 

 

A background / interest in IT will help when pushing for reporting / systematic solutions. The finance systems team works closely with IT and provides a conduit for synergies between the two departments for the wider business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administration of financial controls on multiple Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERPs)
  • Responsible for maintaining reporting solutions for wider business use
  • Documenting and training of new procedures / solutions.
  • A team player when helping to problem solve queries relating to: month end closing, quarter end closing, and year-end closing , including project accounting, variance analysis,  journal entries, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, and balance sheet
  • Interfaces with all levels of management in various labs and departments, including sales, operations, shared services and all other adjunct functions
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Systems accounting experience is required
  • IT background (doesn't have to be technical, but expect rudimentary understanding of databases and VBA)
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Change management experience /project experience
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft AX 2009, Atlas /JET / Bi4Dynamics / Vision (or ay ERP report writing software)
  • Experience with D365 for Finance & Operations orwith Dynamics Nav is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience with reporting / dashboard tools (PowerBI / Tableau / PowerPivot / Business Objects) is advantageous but not essential
