Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Technical Work Planner to join our team. This role will work within our fast-paced Aerospace laboratry in Sheffield, working closely with a variety of different teams to provide support to the business by liaising with customers and the production team. This role will be on a temporary basis initially, however temp to perm is likely.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the departments safety performance and awareness, promotes initiatives that drive a culture of safety first.
  • Contributes to the departments quality performance and awareness, promotes initiatives to ensure the first time right target is high on the agenda.
  • Responsible for the technical review of test orders received and planning of respective orders into the business
  • Under the direction of the Production Manager, promotes the efficient operation of the production department utilizing 5S and lean principles where applicable.
  • Monitoring customer accounts and liaising with lab managers to ensure lab delivery times are correctly adhered to, with any subsequent communication relayed to client.
  • Close co-operation with the respective administrative teams handling work orders, payment terms, quotations, invoicing and materials booking in activities.
  • To liaise effectively with other Element sites as required, managing client expectations and follow-up as required
  • Organizing and arranging the provision of third part inspection services for the site and communicating directly with the witnessing bodies on Elements & Client behalf. Sub-contracting
  • Arranging of subcontracting of test services outside site capability & capacity, duties to include, lead time requests and amendment of internal completion dates to reflect and subsequent client liaison.
  • Review of test results from respective departments and provide signatory approval of certification
  • Workflow Management
  • Assist in the continuous improvement and development of the department through innovation and BI projects.
  • Assists production manager with the development and presentation of internal KPI’s in order drive departmental and business performance.

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Strong Mechanical Testing and Metallurgy technical knowledge of overall laboratory technical capabilities and services.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to develop technical knowledge in their chosen field in the context of Element’s business.
  • Likely to possess a Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field.
  • Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business.
  • In-depth understanding of testing concepts.
  • Possess strong computer skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills (both written & oral)
