Infrastructure Security Officer (Core)

Element has an opportunity for a new Infrastructure Security Officer (Core) to join our growing team to implement and develop Element’s IT infrastructure security; so both current and future needs can be sustained.  It is a really exciting point to join the Element IT team with a real opportunity to contribute. We are looking for an individuals with deep and wide expertise in the security space.



Elements Purpose is to make tomorrow safer than today and this role really embodies that Purpose. This role will be fundamental in making our IT infrastructure more secure by/through:

  • Identifying and defining infrastructure vulnerabilities, translating them into infrastructure security risks
  • Establishing action plans to address infrastructure related security risks
  • Designing, implementing and improving security controls related to physical, digital, cyber and cloud environments
  • Formulating and delivering security solutions as part of project and programme work
  • Participating within the IT Security Council designed to oversee, develop and maintain a secure enterprise wide IT estate
  • Providing an escalation point for high priority infrastructure related security issues

Skills / Qualifications

The role requires an experienced infrastructure security specialist, practised in dealing with and protecting against infrastructure security threats. Requires previous headship in deploying, maintaining and supporting security solutions across end user compute, data centre (cloud and on-premise), server and network infrastructures.


In terms of specific technologies, experience in the security components of the following would be beneficial:

  • Microsoft stack/ecosystems for end user compute and server environments; including Windows, Windows Server, Azure, Exchange, O365, Active Directory, AzureAD, MS Endpoint Manager (Intune), Azure Sentinel
  • Non-Microsoft Cloud technologies i.e. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud etc
  • Standard network protocols i.e. TCP/IP, HTTP and SMTP
  • ISO 27001/2, NIST, PCI, SOX, ITGC, or other security frameworks
  • LAN/WAN – Cisco Networking
  • Firewall – Cisco ASA; Sonicwall; Fortigate
  • F5 APM/LTM
  • MS Defender ATP
  • Ivanti Endpoint Manager
