Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Country Procurement Manager (CPM) for the United Kingdom based in our London Group Headquaters near Victoria Train / Underground Station. This role will be responsible and accountable for the procurement and sourcing strategical and tactical deployment within the assigned area or location.

 

The Country Procurement Manager has a complete understanding of the business conducted at the labs, and develops innovative sourcing strategies in a fast paced and hands on delivery focused role. Our successful candidate must have end to end procurement expertise and will be comfortable in his / her abilities to manage the full sourcing lifecycle from cradle to grave.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Procurement Business Partner in UK with responsibility for the strategy and delivery of Procurement across UK labs
  • Develop and deliver procurement savings plans for UK and for specific regional and global categories led out of UK in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Actively engage cross-functionally with commercial business leaders as a strategic partner to drive down lifecycle cost while enhancing customers' experience, product quality, increasing supply chain flexibility and productivity
  • Lead and execute sourcing projects, including strategy development, supplier categorisation, supplier classification, pricing, payment terms, contract setting and execution, risk management, and business case presentations
  • Evaluate historical and forecasted data on categories of spend to help formulate a category plan
  • Work with network of individual operations to ensure a sustainable project pipeline is developed and managed along with suitable action plans
  • Manage Category Managers to deliver category plans with savings and service improvements to the benefit of the group
  • Have a strong focus on increasing procurement coverage through reduction of maverick spend and reduction of long tail spend
  • Ensure all purchased services required are appropriately negotiated and contracts bring competitive advantage to Element Materials Technology
  • Manage reviews on critical contract for key business related to the area and not yet handled at central procurement function, ensuring contract performance is managed in line with KPI's and customer requirements
  • Provide analysis and reporting tools to monitor and measure the effectiveness of sourcing and supplier activities
  • Identify and resolve strategic supplier performance issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a deep understanding of both the supplier categories for the global Testing, Inspection and Certification market as well as the supplier base serving the labs

Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success with regard to managing all aspects of the sourcing lifecycle, sourcing materials globally, supplier management and cost reductions competencies ; successful change management with measurable business improvement
  • Strong Project Management skillset with consultative skills and structured thought process with advanced MS Excel & PPT skills
  • Broad business, commercial and finance acumen; strong numerical skills; ability to analyse technical and financial data
  • Excellent communications skills with suppliers and colleagues with great attention to detail and timing of results, and ability to present information in an engaging way (written and oral)
  • Strong ability to negotiate, construct and manage complex procurement contracts of significant value
  • Significant experience of managing large suppliers and complex contracts and ability to translate this supplier categories and supplier base awareness into both a strategic and tactical management approach which contributes to the success of the labs at all levels#LI-MJ1
