Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Radio Test technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Radio Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.  The Radio Test technician position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
  • Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
  • Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
  • Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
  • Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
  • Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
  • Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory
  • Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
  • Utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis
  • Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions

Skills / Qualifications

  • A good general education including English, Maths and Science
  • Interest in Electronics  with practical / hands-on work experience
  • HNC / HND / ONC in a relevant technical background such as Electronic. Support for HNC would be considered
  • Ability to apply and develop basic skills to use tools and test equipment
  • Professional individual with the ability to work effectively alone as well as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • The right candidate should be willing to travel to perform offsite travel within the UK at customers premises or at other Element sites and will able to work on shift where required
