Head of Operations

Element has an opportunity for a Head of Operations for our BM Trada business at High Wycombe. In this role you will be reporting to the General Manager and perform a variety of leadership responsibilities within the assigned location to ensure timely and accurate test results are delivered.


All Operational Leadership positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.



  • To be instrumental in the achievement of efficiency targets within the UK client base
  • Development and delivery of performance reports and presentation of such
  • To liaise with the Head of Auditor Resources, to ensure that sufficient auditors are available to deliver the UK audit schedule
  • Operating in a balanced manner focused on the what and the how, at all times through continuous performance improvements
  • Working with all staff to build high performing teams where all staff play a vital role and live the company values
  • Run weekly and monthly SQDC conference calls
  • Provide performance reports to the GM and EVP as and when required
  • To work with the Audit Resources and Technical & Approvals teams in the delivery of client audit programmes and deliver operational efficiencies

Skills / Qualifications

As a Head of Operations will need to have: 

  • Education at degree level
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office suite and some knowledge of customer databases
  • Track record managing and developing teams ensuring they have the correct skills and training to undertake their roles.
  • Demonstrable experience in an operational role
  • Experience of the certification industry and its operations (desirable) 
  • Knowledge of ISO and supply chain standards (desirable)

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Confidence dealing with stakeholders at all levels
