Overview

Element has an opportunity for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to work within the nuclear sector, coering our south of Scotland region, based in Annan. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to further progress their career by joining one of the industry's leading testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.

 

The successful candidate must hold P402, P403 and P404 (or equivalent) and have extensive experience of Industrial properties. The role is required to carry out large complex industrial surveys and 4 stage clearance works using an electronic tablet based system as part of a team on nuclear sites within the South Scotland region, relying on your experience and knowledge to service client requests.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Four Stage Clearance, Air Monitoring / Fibre Counting
  • Carry out asbestos surveys (Demolition, Refurbishment and Management)
  • Work on a large asbestos removals project - reporting progress back to the Site manager on a daily basis.
  • Carry out re-inspections and ensuring the clients asbestos register is kept up to date and compliant.
  • Responsible for client interaction/meetings
  • Attend regular departmental meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Assist the Site Manager in their duties when required
  • Represent Element in a professional manner at all times
  • Collate and produce sampling information, reports, site plans and any other documentation relevant to activities undertaken
  • Ensure quality control policies and procedures are adhered to as part of maintenance of authorisation status and UKAS accreditation
  • Participate in quality assurance audit programme
  • Remain up to date with asbestos legislation and industry best practice
  • Maintain relevant qualification to operate within the asbestos industry
  • Organise and plan workload to ensure client requirements are satisfied
  • Support the business by working flexibly from Element offices or from client sites as required
  • Carry out other duties as may be reasonably required

Skills / Qualifications

  • As a minimum, applicant should possess BOHS P402, P403 & P404 or equivalent (BOHS P401, P405, P407, W504, or CCP Asbestos an advantage)
  • Proven experience working on large, complex industrial surveys
  • Proven experience working on large complex asbestos enclosures (both air monitoring support and 4SC works)
  • Proven experience of technical review of asbestos reports and air monitoring documentation
  • Significant experience within a UKAS accredited company in Four Stage Clearances and Air
  • Monitoring in a variety of property types
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and legislative guidance in relation to asbestos
  • Knowledge of UKAS practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and awareness of current trends and developments in the asbestos industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Logical and structured approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident approach with good interpersonal skills
  • Flexible attitude with a willingness to travel and stay away from home in remote locations as required
  • Full UK driving licence is essential as regular travel will be required
