Digital Development Engineer

Warringtonfire has an opportunity for a Digital Development Engineer to join our growing team. You will be charged with implementing improvement projects through technical innovation. The projects will be focused on improvements to the various systems that are used within the laboratories and offices.



  • Improve the customer experience through operational excellence and innovation with particular focus on improving lead-time and communication
  • Identify process improvements through the use of new technologies
  • Hands on role to implement the identified improvements with responsibility for preparation, execution and aftercare of improvement projects
  • Preparing written procedures and providing training to users
  • Collaborating with a wide range of people across various geographies
  • The measurement of progress and targeting of results from improvement projects
  • Coaching of change agents and management to ensure the maximum positive impact of the project on the Element stakeholders
  • Proactive and effective communication related to improvement initiatives

Skills / Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with the ability to solve complex problems within Word & Excel
  • Programming ability in respect of VBA, RPA, Python or similar
  • Knowledge of databases - Access or SQL or similar
  • Project management skills to manage the process of providing excellent customer service, exceptional quality of service and turnaround, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to gather and interrogate process data to identify areas for improvement, as well as being able to effectively present findings and results to colleagues at various levels within the organisation
  • Ability to map complex processes and understand where improvements can be made
  • Meticulous
  • Patience and perseverance as the roll out of some improvements will require a lot of repetitive data entry
  • Well developed and effective verbal and written communication skills used in working with peers and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Be pragmatic, enthusiastic and fit with the strong company values
  • Flexible and able to accommodate virtual meetings across a range of time zones
  • Must have valid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Knowledge of an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
  • Previous experience of working in a continuous improvement role is desired
