Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Operations Manager .Due to organisational re-structuring, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Operations Manager to join our Energy Team in Aberdeen. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will assume P&L responsibility for all operations and revenue streams within the materials testing laboratory based in Altens Industrial Estate, Aberdeen.

 

The person we are looking for will have demonstrable experience of managing cross functional teams and processes within a commercial operations or projects type environment. They will be a dynamic individual who will be expected to bring energy, passion and a pragmatic inclusive leadership style to an already successful organisation. You will be expected to own and drive the continuous improvement and operational excellence agenda throughout the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for driving and delivering customer satisfaction through on time delivery, quality and excellent customer service
  • Accountable for achieving annual Operational Plan including revenues, profit, working capital and operational performance
  • Evaluate and actively manage the locations ability to satisfy customer needs for the present and the future, ensuring adequate resources and staffing levels to meet or exceed these needs
  • Working with the sales and business development teams, actively maintain contact and relationships with top location customers in line with Element policies, and participate as necessary to cultivate new customers
  • Develop and execute short and long term business plans and strategies to include operational goals, equipment needs, and staffing for the location
  • Prepare and submit accurate revenue forecasts on a weekly basis, determine and execute on corrective actions necessary to achieve plan goals
  • Provide guidance, direction and developmental opportunities that allow colleagues talent to be identified and realised. Likewise, provide direction and counselling to underperforming employees

Skills / Qualifications

  • Significant experience managing within a commercial operations, engineering or project management environment
  • CMI Qualification in Management or equivalent
  • HND / BSc in Engineering or Materials Science would be advantageous
  • Development of effective, high performing teams driving continuous improvement and change management
