Overview

Element is looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician - Laboratory Technician for their busy laboratory based in Somerset West, South Africa.  40 hours per week (additional hours as required).

 

Responsibilities

  • Working in the laboratory assisting in the preparation of soil/water samples
  • Undertaking a variety of organics and inorganics extractions in preparation for analysis
  • Maintaining accurate records, calibrating equipment and general housekeeping methods
  • Reporting of results using Laboratory Information Management System

Skills / Qualifications

  • A science background with a post matriculation qualification (degree or diploma)
  • Alternative qualifications will be considered depending on relevant equivalent experience
  • The right aptitude and/or previous relevant experience will also be taken into account
  • Punctual and hard-working
  • Highly motivated and organised individual
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
