Test Technician

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. If are technically minded, are at the start of your career and are eager to develop your skills in a specialised industry, then this is the opportunity for you!  
As a Test Technician you will become part of an experienced team, develop ownership of high pressure/high temperature test, a very important part of our testing cycle. As a Test Technician, you will be trained to be proficient in a number of core business skills including, but not limited to, compliance to established safety rules, quality systems, technical skills, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. 



  • Preparation of specimens for testing/evaluation. Such as, polishing, grinding, strain gauging, chemical preparation and working with pressure vessels 
  • Performs tests as directed by customer specifications and international standards 
  • At times work with a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager 
  • Interacts periodically with customers 
  • Gathers and records test data 
  • Constructs and maintains various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision 
  • Maintains a clean workplace in line with 5S standards 

Skills / Qualifications

  • HNC or HND in engineering field preferred, but not required 
  • Proactive attitude  
  • Ideally a working knowledge of laboratory safety 
  • Able to work under pressure with changing demands 
  • IT savvy (excel, word, MS Teams) 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus 
  • Physically fit as this role does require lifting ( <20kg often and >20kg on occasion)
